The 2010 season is starting to look great. We have had several very good runs at
Englishtown against all the national kids. The last run at Englishtown was the
WKA NJ Sprint Series race and Brandon was solidly in 4th place until the 5th place
person took him out on the second to last lap. It was a good fight.
At the last WKA NJ Sprint Series at NJMP Brandon came in a strong 4th with
a bunch of national kids on hand. He is really stepping up to the challenge of
the national scene.
We continue to race at LIKA and Brandon has won every race at Nassau Coliseum
and OVRP this year at the LIKA championship races. We will miss a few LIKA races
this year due to national races, but the schedule does not overlap too much.
WISH US LUCK FOR 2010!!!

- Brandon would have won the championship at LIKA if he had not been traveling! Even
with missing 5 of the LIKA races, he came in a very close second. 2009 was a growth
year for him.
- Brandon places 5th in the Rotax Northeast Championship in his first year!
- Brandon places in 21st place in the WKA Grand Nationals in Yamaha Sportman
Heavy at his first WKA National race and his first time ever in a Yamaha!
2009 was a good year!!!!
Wonder Racing has went GREEN
We have chosen the Merlin Racing Kart platform for both the Minimax
and Yamaha Sportsman callases in 2010. We selected Merlin because of its
unique tuning capabilities and its impeccable record in winning
races.
We want to thank Mike Doty of MDR for all his help so far this year, it looks like it's going to eb a good year!
We plan to keep our Birel kart for the cadet class in 2010 and
are once again contesting that championship. |
Take a look at our new helmet design Thanks to Mike at
www.helmet-painting.com for creating a real work of art!
Check out our Minimax engine on the dyno posted on YouTube by our good buddies at MCR Engine Development.
Here at Wonder Racing we believe in having fun
first, that is what our racing program is all about. Brandon, our
driver, is in his third year (2009) of Kart racing and is really enjoying
what he is doing. He loves to hit the track and do laps, and equally
enjoys playing with the other kids at the track.
Brandon secured second overall in Minimax and third in cadet. The Cadet championship
came down to the wire with only 200 points between second and third with Brandon in
second. We were in place to take second in a heated battle for the points, but we were
taken out by another kart on the second lap of the final. Brandon kept his cool and
made up a 30 kart gap to the pack in 2 laps! Brandon started passing karts in an
effort to reach his rival, but there were not enough laps in the race and the checkered
came out before he was able to make up the difference. Everyone at LIKA raced great,
and we all had a fun-packed and very competitive year. Hopefully next year will bring
even closer racing in these two classes.

To sum it up, 2008 didn't start off great, and didn't finish great either. It had a
great middle, and we have realized that with our current setup the kart is great when
it is hot out. When it gets cold, we loose way too much grip. This will be remedied for
next year, and we are planning on once again contesting both classes in our Birel
karts.
Brandon has placed 3rd in the LIKA championship with only 11 races. The
other top 5 drivers had at least 13 races each and we are very proud of
what Brandon has accomplished in his first full year of karting. He drove
with his head and did very well to stay out of trouble, drive clean and
always finish at the top. CONGRATULATIONS BRANDON!
The Wonder Racing team has secured the "Best Appearing"
award for the 2007 season. We are very proud of this award and
would like to thank all at LIKA for this wonderful honor!
We have decided to run both Minimax and Cadet (MCR Comer) in 2008
and have acquired a second Birel C28 C-J for the Minimax motor to
be installed on. We are happy to be staying with Birel for 2008 and
hope for a winning season in both classes. |
